Katrina is a big storm. There have been some tornados in Georgia, but nothing like the destruction of New Orleans and along the Mississippi coast. I will call around 6:30 pm. Take care honey.

Un beso grande para ti.

08/30/2005

My Dear Walter:
I've heard about Hurricane Katrina on the TV news, but I never thought it would pass nearby Atlanta!!! I was also worried since our flight will have a stop in Miami... but hopefully that wouldn't be a problem for next Friday.
Honey, today we'll have a meeting about the trip, so I will be able to give you all the information by afternoon. This week is running wild, there are so many things I have to set up before leaving...

Please take care - I'll be looking forward your call.

A big kiss
Monday, August 29, 2005

Hey darling:
I hope that you had a good fin de semana. I will give you a call tomorrow to see how the hotel arrangements are coming. I just trying to survive the rain. The outer bands of Hurricane Katrina are spreading rain over the whole Southeast. It must be terrible in New Orleans.

Un beso grande para ti.

I do like him. When I was a student at Chicago, I used to go and see blues shows on occassion and my brother - who has seen him - tells me that he is amazing.

I will honey. So are you B B King fan? that's new for me... Sure you are going to have fun then. Sorry about your great-uncle...

Hey Honey:
It's getting really hard to find accomodations for our group since we are trying to book just single rooms for eleven persons... but hopefully today everything is going to get set, so I'll send the information to you as soons as I have it.
How are you? how is your uncle from North Carolina? I hope there he isn't seriously ill... Did you have fun at your "hora feliz"? Eso espero. Esta semana ha sido muy pesada para mí ya que he tenido que asistir a muchas reuniones y seminarios. I HATE driving, I get so tired... and this afternoon I must attend to another meeting in Rancagua and then drive up to Santiago, where I'll meet some friends and also I need to do some shopping before the trip.

Yesterday I picked up my passport and my flight tickets...

See you soon, my darling

Honey, this is wonderful, we are almost done!!!
Walter, I want to let you know that all you're doing - taking off of your job and trying to fit into my schedule - means a lot to me... I know we are going to have a wonderful time in California, as we did it once - what a meaningful place for us...
I'd just like for you to tell me what you would like me to bring you from Chile... is there anything in particular you would wish I take with me to California??? Please, think about it and let me know.

Hi honey!
You are right about the dates, that's it.
I'm so sorry for all this hotel nightmare... So far there is just one hotel confirmed for sure, which is San Francisco Marriott Fisherman's Wharf http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/SFOFW for the last night (sept 09th - sept 10th). DoubleTree Rohnert Park is sold out (what a pain...), so the travel agent is checking Courtyard Marriot and Best Western for Sonoma. I'll let you know as soon as I get the confirmation.
How was your weekend? My weekend was good - lots of fun along with old friends and colleages...
But you're always on my mind.

Yes, darling, I'm a bit tired with all this planning, but also it has been very interesting because I've made a lot of very useful connections. Beside that, I made the schedule, which means I planned to visit the most interesting places to me...
As for the Hotels, the schedule goes as follows:

- September 7th to September 9th, Sonoma (Rohnert Park): DoubleTree Hotel http://www.doubletree.com/en/dt/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=RLSC-DT

- September 9th to September 10th, San Francisco: Courtyard San Francisco Downtown http://www.courtyardsanfrancisco.com/

Keep in mind that my accommodations are already arranged by my company, so just make the most convenient deal for you.
Have a nice day, honey... it was great to talk to you yesterday.

Hey darling:
That sounds great, darling! I will try to make it out the 6th or 7th of September. Do you know the hotels where you are staying yet? I guess that I will need to rent a car as well. I am glad that Cata and Vino was very interesting. Everything is OK here,

You must be tired from making all these plans!

Un beso grande para ti.

Walter
Miércoles, 17 de Agosto de 2005

Hello Honey!
¿Todo bien por allá? Espero que sí. Cata & Vino estuvo muy interesante, fui con Max y degustamos muchos vinos. Jess joined me later on since we had a business meeting that I had arranged between her and a colleage of mine whom is very interested in some connections she got in CA. We had a late lunch at Liguria (the restaurant I took you to right after your flight the first day we spent in Santiago)... the pasta was soo good... and the business too - I hope so!

Anyway, let's cut to the cheese!
Honey, I've attached the schedule proposal to let you know our plans. We are supposed to arrive to San Francisco on Saturday of September the 3th, and spend that night in San Francisco. Next Sunday early morning we are leaving to Napa, where we are going to stay for three nights. Then, we would leave Napa on Wednesday of September 7th to Sonoma and stay for two nights (Rohnert Park), and then we'd leave Sonoma on Friday of September 9th to San Francisco and spend there our last night. Our flight back to Chile is on Saturday of Sept 10th at 13:00 pm.

I guess the best we could do is to join in Sonoma (september 7th) for the last three days of the trip, since we will try to make our last visits as quick and short as possible (people are supposed to be tired at this point), hopefully with some extra time for shopping/touring/fun. Perhaps you might try staying at the same hotels we are going to stay at - it would be easier for me to squeeze out of the group!

Let me know your thoughts,

A kiss

Dear Walter:
I hope you are fine. Before this Friday I'll send the trip's schedule to you, since it's almost ready!
Here is very rainy, windy and cold... Hope you are doing better with your hot summer season.
Cata & Vino was fun last Friday - thousands of wines, Sauvignon Blanc Amayna and Syrah De Martino the best -, but I finished last week very tired - too much driving for a week - so I took a good rest the rest of the weekend - family weekend, very nice... Yesterday was a religious holiday, so I just stayed at home, warm and cozy, watching movies, reading the papers and looking out my window how the rain fell down outside...

Have a nice week, my darling.

PS: here it goes a picture of Cata y Vino. Take a note of the glass, a special new cup designed by Riedel, very useles by the way...

Necessito hablar con mi jefe sobre time off y necessito to buy an airplane ticket. I should be able to come out for at least 4 or 5 dias. My dear Walter:
Today is being a crazy day... I have been two days out the office, so I've got a lot of work to do. Today afternoon I have a meeting with Viñas de ... - our partnership for this trip - in order to set up appointments with the vineyards we are going to visit in California. The itinerary is taking shape as the flight tickets and hotels are almost all booked! I'll send them to you as soon as I get the confirmation on them. I am supposed to get the visa delivered next week through the Travel Agency. I hadn't realized how close the trip date is... less than a month from today!

As for my weekend, I've been informed today that I must attend to ANOTHER Wine Fair in Santiago tomorrow... I was trying to skip it, but... anyway, it should be fun - provided that I go along with Jess -, www.catayvino.cl.

Cúidate mucho, me encantó hablar contigo ayer.

OK, enough of spanish for today, my Dear... I'll be a good girl and give you a break!
Tonight I'm driving to Santiago since tomorrow morning I must attend to a Wine Marketing Semminar. On Wednesday morning, medical checkups. And at 2pm... you already know it. Hopefully I should be informed right away whether they are going to give me the Visa - next day at the very worst.

I'll stay at Jess's place, so we'll have the chance to talk about many things - beside her last trip -, business included. There are a couple of things going on around here these days. That should help to distract myself for a while of what I am really worried about.

Take care, honey.

Things are much more better today. Yesterday I talked to Jess, she is finally back!!! however, I guess that she is even more homesick somehow... she and Andi spent a wonderful time in NYC, and Baby has started to walk on his own!!! Hi, My Dear:
I love when you talk/write to me in spanish!!!
Thanks very much, sweetheart. I am also a bit nervous, honey. Just trying not to think too much about the "D" day. What it has to be, it will be (as a chilean saying goes).
We have to keep the faith, I got the feeling I'm going to make this trip work!
My tiny boy, I'm sorry to tell you that I haven't had happy days. The situation that I told you about was totally unpleasant. An ex-boyfriend got married two months ago, and as soon as he did it, her current wife hasn't stoped harassing me with anoying anonymous phone calls. I got the point that I got to switch my cell phone number, loosing valuable contacts of a lifetime - work and friends. By the way, this is my new cell phone number: ... My office phone number also switched:...
Nevertheless, my family and I have taken other measures just in case she carries on with this nonsense. I just hope she gives up once and for all, for her own sake.
Adding to this - or perhaps because of this -, I haven't felt very good. I went to the doctor last Monday and he asked me for a number of checkups. Hopefully, everythings is going to be fine. Keep your finger crossed, my Dear

Hi Honey!
How was your weekend? I hope you have had the chance to clean up your mind and have some resting.
We had a big celebration on Saturday night for Fa - my friend from Chimbarongo, Concha y Toro's winemaker - since she passed Winemaker's examination! It was girls' night, and we had a lot of fun.
However, I had a really bad time - I got involved in a very disgusting situation that did screw up my weekend. Life turns out wild sometimes because of many crazy people running loose around. But never mind, I will work this out right away.

To be honest, I have no idea how good Marco's english is, so neither Andres, but I guess it should be good enough if he is going to study at Duke. The only thing I know for sure is that he and his wife Paola are really nice, they are Pato's ex-parents, as a matter of fact... do you remember that giant white dog in my house, the most stupid dog ever to have born on earth??? Well, Marco made us the favor... they couldn't keep him with them on their new appartment in Santiago, so they chose my brother to be his new father... very kind of them.
Although Pato and I have became to get closer lately, he barks very loud which is useful for home's security... and also he is behaving less stupid. I thing he is maturing. I hope so.

Thanks, my tiny boy! Although I think my brother went ahead from me sending an e-mail to his friends. Don't pay too much attention to his words - in case you understood them -, he loves to make jokes about me and my friends, given the fact of our huge differences as far as many issues are concerned... The funniest thing is that he thinks you are and excelent person - in spite of you are friend of mine -, just based in what he saw from you while you stayed at home. That is very unusual coming from him. That's my brother, but I love him very much. It's just the way he is.

Thanks for the energy. That reminds me - I need to bring the bottle of mint with me from my apartment to the office. Of course, your brother's friends can contact me regarding North Carolina and Durham in particular. My brother graduated from Duke and I still have friends in the area who can recommend restaurants and apartment complexes, etc. - besides it is nice to have someone looking out for them. I hope that your day is a good one. Enjoy your weekend.

Honey, I have a very good friends of my brother whom are leaving Chile this Sunday to Duke University in North Carolina for four months. They are a nice couple, both lawyers, and Marco - my brother's friend - is going to take some courses at Duke. I told to my brother that you were born in North Carolina, and he asked me your e-mail for them to have some contact in any event. I wonder if that is ok for you since you could eventually give them some advice about North Carolina or anything else. Let me know!

My Dear Walter,

Someone reminded me today that this is my favorite song. And it brought me up.
This is my gift for you today.

BEAUTIFUL (Marillion)

Everybody knows we live in a world
Where they give bad names to beautiful things
Everybody knows we live in a world
Where we don't give beautiful things a second glance
Heaven only knows we live in a world
Where what we call beautiful is just something on sale
People laughing behind their hands
As the fragile and the sensitive are given no chance

And the leaves turn from red to brown
To be trodden down
To be trodden down
And the leaves turn from red to brown
Fall to the ground
Fall to the ground

We don't have to live in a world
Where we give bad names to beautiful things
We should live in a beautiful world
We should give beautiful a second chance

And the leaves fall from red to brown
To be trodden down
Trodden down
nd the leaves turn green to red to brown
Fall to the ground
And get kicked around

You strong enough to be
Have you the courage to be
Have you the faith to be
Honest enough to stay
Don't have to be the same
Don't have to be this way
C'mon and sign your name
You wild enough to remain beautiful?
Beautiful

And the leaves turn from red to brown
To be trodden down
Trodden down
And we fall green to red to brown
Fall to the ground
But we can turn it around

You strong enough to be
Why don't you stand up and say
Give yourself a break
They'll laugh at you anyway
So why don't you stand up and be
Beautiful

Black, white, red, gold, and brown
We're stuck in this world
Nowhere to go
Turnin' around
What are you so afraid of?
Show us what you're made of
Be yourself and be beautiful
Beautiful

Ahhh, by the way...
Perhaps this also might help,
I love you,
for what it's worth
(I've just found out about it last night... after your calling, and a long talk to myself)

Dear tiny boy,
It is always good to catch up with friends...
As for my side, my social life is ok, however I'm starting to feel a bit restless in my current job. I got the feeling that I'm stock, I don't know exactly why. Yesterday I talked with a good friend of mine who knows me very well and says that it's part of my personality that I'm always pushing myself too hard, looking for new challenges. To be honest, I feel like something is missing, a kind of misplacement feeling. Very weird. Suddenly everything looks pointless, as far as my current job is concerned. But I also know myself and I know this is going to blow away once I get to know the real reason behind this sensation. That's what I'm going to try to find out about.
Don't worry about me, I'm going to be fine.
I just wanted to share this with you.
Have a nice day

Hey angel:
I am glad that you had a really good time in Santiago. I spent the weekend up in Raleigh NC. A high school friend of mine got married and I was in his wedding. It was good to see him but the wedding was not much fun - I wore a tuxedo with tails - it was 95 degrees F, 35 degrees C, plus there was no dancing or alcohol that the reception. However, I still had a good time catching up with friends.
Yes, I am still unpacking but making progress. My new address is ... and my number is ... Anyway, take care my angel. I hope your day is going well.

Hi honey!
I hope you are fine. I spent really nice days in Santiago. The semminars were very interesting and I met severals friends and coleagues, a lot to catch up... that was fun! I also had a fare well party - a couple of americans winemakers leaving Chile, they are going back to California along their baby. Adi left Chile last Friday to join with Jess in NYC, he also left me the keys of their house, so I'll have the all place to my own until August 1st!!!
Saturday and Sunday were very sunny, after a lot of rains and cold, and the mountains are all snowed, ready and waiting for us to get there...
How is everything going there? Organizing the new place, I guess. When you have time, send me your new address and phone number.

We shall see honey, you have to cross your finger on next August 10th - the day of my interview at the embassy -. I don't want you to have any problems in your current job because of asking for days off too soon.
So are you listening Miguel Bose's CD? He is one of my favorite singers, I'd wish you would be able to understand the lyrics, they are so meaningful...
Have a nice day, today evening I have my weekly therapy and tomorrow I am driving early morning to Santiago, I'm really excited about the semminars - they allow me to keep in shape my knowledges and also see some friends from this little chilean wine world.

Hey darling:
I am doing OK, angel. Just working on an immigration case and listening to your Miguel Bose CD - Eleven Ways of Wearing a Hat. As far as Hurricane Dennis goes, it just knocked out power in some places in the city and in some low-lying parts got flooded. Some wind but mostly rain. The wine fair sounds very exciting and the Paul Taylor show should be interesting - you should have a great time. I think I saw a Paul Taylor several years ago in Durham, NC. During the summer, Duke University hosts the American Dance Festival - essentially a month of modern dance performances. I am trying to get settled in my new place. So much needs to be done.
As far as your trip to CA this September, we shall see honey. If you can't come here - I will just have to go there.

Un beso grande para ti.

Martes, 12 de Julio de 2005

Hi Honey!
I've heard about Hurricane Dennis but I never thought it would get Atlanta as well... here everything is all right, I still have no news from Jen, which is very understandable since she must be trying to spend as much time as she can along with her family and friends, instead of checking e-mails. Tomorrow I've got to go to Santiago because I must attend to Vinitech Semminars - the most important wine fair in Chile - until Saturday. It should be interesting, and also it will give me the chance of hanging around there. Rodin was great, and I'm planning to attend to Paul Taylor's show (an american famous dancer).
How are you? how is the job doing? do you like your new place?
A big hug

PS: After London's blast, I'm think that things with your embassy are going to get worse. I have no many hopes on getting the visa. Sorry, baby.
Lunes, 11 de Julio de 2005

Hey honey:
I hope that you are doing well. Just busy here working. I spent the weekend trying to avoid Hurricane Dennis. Lots of wind and rain, some time spent in the dark - but not much damage here in Atlanta. We are too far from the coast. My fourth of July was fun. I needed to relax after the move. I spent some time unpacking and sorting the apartment. Still, a lot of work to do, but it will get there. It sounds like you had a good time at the Rodin exhibit. Have you heard from Jess yet?

just a couple of thoughts... I liked very much when you called me yesterday even when you were not feeling in the best mood. I want you to feel free of sharing anything - good or bad - with me. It makes me feel closer to you. I'd just like to be with you right now.

Look at this below... Jess never stop amazing me... you are invited as well, of course.

It's more that understandable if you think that almost eveybody was with their boy/girlfriend, except for Max and I, and between Max and I, no way, man... he is just like a brother to me.
You are the only tiny boy that I am willing to tolerate currently. No one else.

Well... I finally got the interview!!!!!!!!! it will be on Agust the 10th at 2pm... Ohhh, honey, I was so frustrasting because of the delay, but yesterday I got the new from the Travel Agency - after some lobby of some contacts of mine - , so now we have to keep our fingers crossed for them to issue the visa with no restrictions. Anyway, I had a great weekend, I met Jess on Friday - a very funny happy hour at the Ritz's bar - but I went on Sunday to Viña del Mar - beside Valparaiso - along with other friends and we HAD FUN I must say... we went for dancing on Saturday night to Valparaiso, altough it reminded me of you all the time, looking at the Brigton from the plaza Anibal Pinto, that square when we saw that puppet show... We also went to the Casino - boring!!! - and bowling and hanging around at some friends's appartment. What a shame! Men are just as childs, playing Play Station - a futbol game - instead to go out!!!! The only bad thing is the whether, raining for 6 days in a row!!! and wind and storms... It's being a national security problem...
Call me when you have time, I'm missing your voice very much...

Hi Honey!
You must be so tired...what a pity... but the only thing that matters is that you finally made it!!! A kiss to you for that!!! From now on, just try to keep as little stuffs as possible and get rid from as much garbage as you can right away. Yesterday I had a meeting that went on until very late, but today I'm going to be at the office all day but lunch time - I'm going out with a friend - and I have no meetings scheduled so far, in case you want to call, since this evening I have set up an appointment with my terapist at 7pm. I have news...

Hey honey:
How are you, angel? I am sitting upright at my desk, but that is about all I can do. I am so tired from my move. How much basura can one man collect. Incredible. Ebay, garage sale, or just give the stuff a way - I will be doing one or all of the three. Enough about me - How was your four day weekend? I hope that you had a good time. Skiing? Hiking? Did you spend the long weekend with Jen? I hope that things are going well. And I will keep my fingers crossed regarding the visa. I miss you a lot always. If you are around this evening or tomorrow evening I would like to give you a call. I miss hearing your voice and laughter.

Un beso muy grande,

Walter
Jueves, 23 de Junio de 2005

jajajajaja, my tiny boy, I just want to make it up as much as you do... they should set up the interview on the next week - which doesn't garantee they are going to issue you the visa -, otherwise... I will rethink about it, ok? I miss you baby, all the time.

Honey, it isn't up to me, and neither can I wait forever for them to release my passport, in fact I'm so pised off since I just have lost a trip this weekend because of it... what if I have another trip whithin this two months - which is what they are supposed to take for making up their minds? - No way...
sorry about this

Please, please don't give up. Keep the faith. Once you know when, just let me know.
Jueves, 23 de Junio de 2005

Ufffff, as for the visa... what a nightmare... for some reason, I'm the only one who have had such a delay on getting the interview. Actually they have delayed the whole trip to september, still don't know which week exactly it would be. I am about to give up of this trip. We shall see...
Thursday, June 23, 2005

You must have read my mind. I have been busy working and moving. I have hired movers and I am getting friends to help. I really hate moving but it is an opportunity to make my apartment my own. Are you Jess going skiing. I hope so. That would be a lot of fun. Have you heard anything about your visa and trip?

Un beso grande,

Many hugs and kisses

jajajajajajaja, my poor tiny boy, moving by his own... are you going to get any extra help? I hope so... I do remember very well all those boxes, in fact, I would have expected for you to already get rid of them... hey, watch out with the Christmas decorations!!! as well as with all those beautiful asian fornitures and decorations... I hadn't notice you like white water that much... have fun and take care.

Hey honey:
I started moving boxes to my new place. Next weekend, I will be busy moving stuff and I am not looking forward to it. Ugh, I hate moving, but it will give me a good reason to clean up my place. I have found many boxes of stuff that belong to my mother, which I will need to get rid of ASAP. Also, I have many clothes that I can give away. But I still hate moving. Let me know what is going with your trip once you know something. September sounds like will work better for you. Have fun at the show, I am going rafting in the mountains of NC this weekend. It should be nice. Lo siento sobre mi pais es un dolor con tu visa.

Hi, honey:
I hope your week has been OK. Last weekend was fine, although finally my friends and I decided to quit of dinning on Friday (it was too rainy), my brother invited me to join to some friends of him, a nice family whom owns one of the most beatiful places on the valley (www.loslingues.cl). I had no time to take you there, but it is, whitout a doubt, a gorgeous place, plenty of history, old fornitures, fire places, paintings, horses, an so on... we had a wonderful luch pairing with an stunning 13-years-old vintage red wine... We had a wonderful evening, talking and touring around. I truly hope one I can take you there some day. I also got a wonderful new, an american cuple of friends - Jessica is a winemaker as well - had a baby boy this week!!! he is so cute (I attached a photo) ... I met them through Jenn this last new year at Ale's mom beach house, they are really nice... Changing the subject, it looks like we are going to switch the trip's date because of the delay with the interviews at the US embassy, it might be to the last week of August, or the first of September, we still don't know... when are you moving to the new place? Let me know
This weekend hopefully I'll get Stgo since I'm diying to attend to Momix show... have you heard of them? you should, they are new yorkers... http://www.emol.com/noticias/cultura_espectaculos/detalle/detallenoticias.asp?idnoticia=184024

I'm so worried honey that perhaps I'm not going to make it... but I did my best, so now I just have to cross my fingers...
I forgot to tell you... I got a job offer, from ... as winemaker again...

I'll stay at home this weekend, I guess. Tonight I'm going to go to Casa Silva - do you remeber that nice restaurant where we had dinner on Valentine's night? - along with Fa (my winemaker friend) and Sofía (my judge friend, the curly one who I am with on one of the photos I sent you). Fa has changed her minds about the baby - what a relief!!! - and now is planning to adopt a child with no family, hopefully a little baby, and I arranged this meeting for her to get closer to Sofía who can give her some idea about the process... and also have fun together!!! I'll take care, honey, since here the rains hasn't stoped for three days in a row!!! the road is a bit slippery, actually... Have fun you too... and take care...

I'm doing well, a lot of work as usual. I use to read US papers every day since I am suscribed to several newsletters, as a way to practice my reading english, and, of course, it makes me feel closer to you. Hey Honey:

This is my new work email. Since I only check my msn account only when I think about it - one or twice a week - my work email is better. Regarding the article, both sides make good arguments. Should we be playing God? Does this set a bad precedent creating a world where embryos are grown and harvested like corn, beans, etc.? However, if this embryos are going to be thrown away anyway - and we can help people living with diabetes, spinal cord injury, etc.- is not are moral duty to relieve their suffering? It is a hard question - how is that for a lawyerly answer. Importantly, how are you doing? Is work going OK? I am doing OK. I am getting ready to move to a new place - so the webcam is not set up. I would like to give you a call. When is a good time to call.

Un beso grande,

Say hello to everyone. I hope that everyone is well. Watch over your father - make sure he takes care of himself.

Dear Walter:
I hope you are fine, honey. I miss you a lot as usual. This past weekend I went along my friend Fabiola to a little town 1 hour far from my place, named Lolol. It happened there was a typical carriage party, the most beautiful old carriage's parade I've seen ever... Lolol was full of peasants all dressed up with their tradicional costumes, Huaso's clothes, dancing our tradicional dance named "cueca" and with a showcase of typical chilean dishes as "asado" (our BBQ), "empanadas" (do you remeber those we ate in Vicuña?), and of, course, very good wine. And the horses, Walter... they were umbeliavable, just gorgeous... I guess you really would have enjoyed it if you had been there... and the wheather was sunny and warm, but not too much, just perfect, with a gentle breeze blowing from the coast. Well, honey, that's what I wanted to share with you, and just send you some pictures for you to have some idea of the beauty of our typical chilean traditions.

Take care, sweethart.

Dear Walter:

I'm doing fine, although I was very sad after Francisca was found dead inPhi Phi. But it was just for a while, there were so many things coming... I have had a lot of work at the office for the Project renewal to be ready before I take off on February... beside that, along with a very good american friend of mine, I have been touring a group of american students throughout the wineries, actually today I'm so sleepy because we had dinner until very late last night... but it was so funny... an so on, too many things in my mind, I'll tell you more when you are here... wow! isn't it sound hard to believe? "when you are here"... as for the things you need to bring with you, I think that your swim suit, a good sun cream and a warm jacket - beside summer clothes - are going to be enough. Also an english-spanish dictionary would be useful in case you get lost... I'm kidding... I have everything already setted since I was needing a break, soit's going to be more like just getting relaxed, although I'll have to blend it with a little bit of work, I hope you don't mind. I don't want you to get me wrong and I do mean to be very carefull this time... so even if I am willing to take you around my own world, I actually don't think is a good idea for me to travel abroad along with you - at least as long as we don't make up our minds as far as we are concerned. I think you should ask yourself what you are expecting from this trip - you are always in time to step back.

I am doing OK. I am busy around here at work. Things are going better. I am going to Oregon to visit my family over the holidays. It should be a nice break. I get to play with my nephews and have some time to relax. How about you? I hope that everything is going well. Here is a thought - would you rather have me meet you in Brazil?

All right then, just let me know the dates as soon as you have them since I have time just until next week to book tickets to Brazil, in the case you don't come around...
How are you doing?

I will check into flights to Santiago this week. I figure that I can at least take one week off from work. I think that the first week of your vacation - the week of the 7th - would be the best time for me to come down and see you.

A big hug

I'm planning my vacations and already took the two first weeks of February (7th to 18th), so I'd like you to let me know your schedule because I have some people waiting for my decision.

Lo siento. I did not mean to be rude or hurtful. I just wanted to emphasize that I want to see you - because I want to - not just because you would like for me to come down to visit you. If January is a bad time, then I will come in February or March - whenever it is good time.

Un beso,

Walter

Hey!!!! that was rude... don't get upset with me - some things are not so evident as you think. Given the pleasant-people person that you use to be, I have to ask first and make sure that that was what you wanted... OK, so when are you plannig to come up? January is going to be really tough for me since I'll be working on my project's renewal...

Dear Walter:
I would like you to come here... but I think the question is if, beside my wishes, do YOU really want to come up here?

Martes, 02 de Noviembre de 2004

I also would wish we could meet again and talk. If you really want me to come to Chile, I will. I don't know exactly when - January or February would be the earliest with my work schedule. Think about it, please.

Un beso,

Walter

You were right about the translating. I was able to understand some of your letter but not all of it so I had a member of our library staff born in Argentina help translate the letter. I am OK - mas o menos - but not great. Life does go on and I thought that I was over you; however, I simply cannot put you of my mind. I think of you often. I did not mean to be hurtful bringing up California - I have wonderful memories of our time together. I do care for you and miss you. That is how I feel. You?

Un beso,

Walter

Dear Walter:
are you still trying to translate my last e-mail? sorry about that... I just meant to make you work a little bit... shame on me... what happened is that I though I had gotten over our story, and you suddenly bring me back to our time in California... I felt it wasn't fair... I am fine, working, resting, living... life goes on, unless there is some reason to get stock on past. I told you once I would be able to left you behind, and I am doing it OK... but you? what is going on with you? are you as fine as you seem to be? to be honest with you, I still think about you sometimes and I'm not afraid to let you know it. I'm totally capable to afford my feelings, as you should know... and you? Think about it. But hurry up.

I hope everything is going well in Chile. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your job. It sounds perfect for you - combines your love for wine along with your people skills. I am doing OK. Still working for McKenna. The job is getting better everyday. It is still very stressful but the more experience I get the easier it gets. It is hard to believe that it has been a year since we were in California - what a magical time. I hope that your family is well (including the doggies) - You are always welcomed to come by and see me if you get the chance. I hope that you will have a chance to travel with this job. Take care.
A hug.

I am pretty well, this job just fits me perfectely. The project is very interesting, a lot of meetings, dinners, tastings for foreing investors, etc. My colleages make me laugh all day long, and, beside the secretaries, I am the only woman in a 5-men-office... at the beggining it was difficult for me to be enclosed on an office, but now it's OK, usually I am so busy that I can't even have lunch! I have been thinking about you as well, isn't funny? it happen I have to figure out a trip to Napa, Mendocino and Sonoma throughout the most remarkable wineries, restaurants and tasting rooms, for chilean entrepreneurs related to wine turism business. As for the book, I've got it a couple of weeks ago, so thanks very much, it was very important for me. I am glad you are fine, so keep in touch and take care.
A hug

I have been thinking about you and wondering how you are doing? I hope that your new job is going well. Did you ever get the Chagall book? Things here are OK. I spent last week on vacation visiting my mom, my brother and his family in Oregon. It was a nice break from the heat and humidity of Atlanta. Keep in touch and take care.

Claro que - Of course, I will do it. You know that I would not throw away the book - it is my dresser and I will send it to you. You don't have to pay me for the shipping - it is yours. It will probably will have to be Saturday before I can do it. Unfortunately, I will have to work late the next couple of days - but that too will pass. My mother had a wonderful time in Chile. She toured Santiago and had the opportunity to tour the main headquarters of Concha y Toro - she brought back a wine bag with the picture of the main building - I had no idea that the winery dated back to 1883. Also, I will try to send some more photos via email. What I really need to do is send you a disk of all our photos. Anyway, I let me know what you are up to.

Walter:
I hope you are OK. Two weeks ago I went at a Marc Chagall's exhibition; it was superb. It happen that when I was in California, every night before sleep, specially when I had hard days, just taking a look to those paintings I felt better. Really it is something that I miss so badly that I wonder (I am so ashamed toask you this) if you would do somethig very meaningfull to me... could you send me back that book that I left in Atlanta? I mean, just in case you still have it. If you dump it, I will understand. If it wouldn't be soo important to me I wouldn't bother you. I will pay youback the book and the shipping cost. If you can (and,of course, if you want) do it, I would be gratefull forever!
Take care

What do mean you look like a troll! - I think that it is a great photo - given the 100 mile per hour wind on top of the Empire State Building - I thinking that the photo was more like the Marilyn Monroe photo - the one where she standing over the grate and the draft causes her dress to fly up in the air. Anyway, I am glad that you are doing well. I am busy working as usual. I hope that everything is OK on the home front (having a chance to get out to Santiago and the coast once in a while) - I am glad to hear that you have so many offers -it sounds like the hardest thing will be choosing among them.

I was right, this e-mail was full since I have received the photos just in the other one. Thanks a lot, the second one is soo funny... I look like a troll! (an ugly little toy). About your mother, anyway I asked too late; I hope she enjoy the trip. About me? I was about to leave to Australia on February 25th when I received some very interesting offers, two of them for working in USA and one for Spain, all of them very different but always about wines of course (it's looks like I've got a good plus with my training in K-J and my better english...) I have been lucky, ThanksGodness. Obviously I have my favorite one but is the most hard to get because there are others four very knowledgeable persons applying. The others two possibilities are almost for sure, and also I have another good offer here, but world is soo wide outside! Anyway I have to wait, and in the meantime, just relax and traveling whitin Chile. Thanks again for the photos.
