Hey Sole:

I know what a pain the studying can be. I feel your pain. I shiver everytime I think about studying for the Bar exam. It was not the exam itself, but the stress and anxiety associated with the exam and the long hours of preparation. Annapolis/Baltimore is beautiful and would be a great place to meet Jess and the kids. FYI - I contacted my Senator's office and they are trying to arrange tours of the Capitol, White House, the FBI, the Bureau of Engraving. Having worked for a Senator's office, the White House tours can be difficult to get, but I will try my best.

Everything mentioned below sounds perfect - I have
heard that Mt. Vernon is a really nice place, and I'd
love to be able to get into the world-wide famous
White House. On the other hand, Jess is supposed
to be arriving along the kids around 17/18th to
Annapolis/Baltimore - she's not sure yet given the
hard task that means to drive with two toddlers, but
said that she LOVES Annapolis, so it got to be a
beautiful place if you both agree on that!
We have arranged to meet there instead for me to fly
up to Rhode Island since she also has another friend
who will be staying in Annapolis/Baltimore. I already
gave her our Hotel's directions so that she'll be able
to reach us whenever she can.
Walter, I'd wish I was on vacation now!!! I just spent
three days in a row studying 8 hours a day - I have
lost count on all the movies, dinners, parties,
birthday celebrations and trips that I have missed
because of the exam... Anyway, everything will be over
next Monday, I just hope for the result to be worth of
it.

Also I hope we can make it up in US.
I cannot tell you how excited I am about this upcoming
trip... I'm happy like a little girl!!!!

the same time. The cold gray Santiago winter does not
help, however, be assured that DC will be the opposite
- hot and humid in August. I talked to Andrew a
couple of nights ago and he helping me with ideas. A
ferry trip down to Mt. Vernon - to see the home of
George Washington, the new Museum of American
Indians, the National Gallery of Art, the Lincoln
Memorial, the Washington Monument - I think will keep
us busy. Also, I will check on tours of the White

they discontinued those tours after 9/11 for security
reasons but I will check. Also, I am thinking a night
in Baltimore at the inner habor and a day trip to
Annapolis. As far as what you need to bring, just

DC; I'm sure that if you are in charge, everything will

I am really needing a time off - work gets very
demanding and stresful sometimes and study is being
tough under presure...
How is everything doing around there? is it summer
being too tough? more job-interviews coming?
Here is freezing cold, with the lowest temperatures
that I can remember in Santiago... I hope that DC
will be a nice break from our winter.
BTW, is there anything in special that you'd like me
to bring you? Wine doesn't count, you know that's for
granted!! Think about it and let me know

Well, I've already got the tickets!
I'll be arriving to Washington (IAD) on Sunday 12
Aug, 00:46 (Saturday 10th at midnight), and departing
from IAD on Sunday 19 Aug, 07:07 hrs.
Also I've already booked five nights in Washington;
Check In: August 11, 2007; Check Out: August 16, 2007,
so I will let three more days up to you to plan
some nice sightseeing outside DC.
Ok, I think that's all for now; I am looking

Those dates look good to me. As for DC, with the
museums, the White House, and Congress - I think
that four days is enough. I will ask Andrew what he
thinks. We could spend a few days in DC and spend
a couple of days at the beach. Of course, this time
I will bring more sunscreen. If you are not
interested in the beach -there are points of historical
interest - Williamsburg, Gettysburg, Philadelphia, Baltimore
- that are nearby. I will start working on.

I'm glad you've had a nice time along your
friends and family; look out with the sun though!
You'll see, given the need to book flight tickets
in advance and asking for my days off, I will be
optimistic and star to plan the trip now!!!
Do you think we would be able to meet in DC from
August 11th to August 19th? Talking to Jen, these
dates seem to be the most suitable to me - I
wonder if they suit you too.
Also, I would like for us to share the costs -
car renting, hotels, etc -, so please let me kow your
thoughts about it. I would like at lease to pay
for the hotel, so let me know if it is worth to stay
the seven days in DC and moving around from there -
I'd love this -, or if we should book some days
somewhere else.

Ok, it sounds like a plan I guess...
